Alex joined Summer Fields in September 2024 as the Director of Sport. Prior to this, he was Director of Sport and Junior Boys' Housemaster at Aysgarth School in North Yorkshire from 2021 to 2024. During his time at Aysgarth, he promoted his sporting philosophy of 'Sports for All with Opportunities for Excellence.' Alongside his leadership duties, he was Head of Rugby, introduced hockey and athletics to the school’s sports programme, and significantly increased the number of fixtures for all ages and abilities. His efforts also led to a record number of sports scholarships in a single academic year.

Alex has organised numerous IAPS tournaments, festivals, and coordinated multiple tours and pre-seasons with leading UK senior schools. He earned a Master’s degree in Education and a PGCE from the University of Exeter, following his undergraduate studies in Sport & Physical Education at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he received a BSc (Hons). His passion for sports extends back to his school days, where he achieved county representation in rugby, football, and cricket. Alex has achieved Level 2 or 3 qualifications in all four of our major sports (Football, Rugby, Hockey & Cricket) and loves to volunteer to coach at rugby clubs during his spare time. Alex has played rugby union at the national league level and continues to play cricket in the summer, skiing in the winter, and travelling to at least one new country each year during his holidays.
