Following her baccalauréat and a gap year in Canada, Catherine enrolled at the Université Stendhal in Grenoble where she spent two years studying English literature and American civilisation. She completed her degree at Reading University under the Erasmus Exchange Programme and then enrolled at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris to do her MA on Charles Dickens. She came to teaching as a French assistante at Charterhouse where she and her family lived eleven years. While living in a boarding house at Charterhouse, she taught French at Aldro Prep School for seven years before moving to Switzerland with her family. They returned to the UK in 2016 and Oxford became their new home. She taught at Cokethorpe briefly and then at Magdalen College School before joining Summer Fields in September 2019 as a French teacher. She also became a Year 6 Form Taker that year. In her spare time, she enjoys going for walks, reading and exercising. She loves gardening, upcycling furniture and travelling to France (bien sûr!), visiting Brittany, Burgundy, the South of France and exploring other European countries.
