Junior Colts B VII

The JCBs had a really good season and

can be proud of their record.

Although there was some movement of

players, both up and down, a steady squad

took shape and they played well together.

All good teams build from the back and

we were given a firm foundation by the

solid goalkeeping of

Alverey Bowlby

,

whose positioning and shot-stopping

were impressive, and by the sure-footed

defending of

Harry Nell.

The latter led the

side, as captain, with a steely determination

and was always a reliable last line for the

others to rely on.With the exception of the

3-2 defeat at Cheam, the team remained

unbeaten and only conceded five goals in

the other seven matches.

On several occasions opposition sides

were put to the sword by fast running

and slick passing.

Otto Zimba Davis

ran

tirelessly on the left wing and developed

a useful line in dipping corners. Strong

tackling in midfield and pace going forward

were provided by

Milo Millard

and

Elliott

Regazzacci

, both players being versatile

enough to play out of position,

when required.

Chinweike

Onwu

, a commanding

figure at the centre of

midfield, proved to be

the backbone of the

team. His natural fitness

allowed him to join in

with attacks and get back

to defend whenever required.

Furthermore, when a reserve

goalkeeper was required, he

was the man to step up. The

attack was bolstered in the early season

by

Austin Anite

who, having scored six

goals in three games, was promoted to

the JCAs. His place was taken by the

late-arriving

Mubarak Tinubu

, who

eventually topped the goals tally

with eight. He was a strong runner

with the ball and also provided good

crosses for his colleagues.

Overall, the team spirit that

developed was the most pleasing

aspect. It was good to see this

group grow in confidence and play

for one another. I am sure they will

become a really useful side as they

move up the school.

The JCCs had a terrific season, as

the results clearly show.

After two tough games against

better opponents, we romped

home to several great victories,

with the highlight

being a

tremendous

performance over at Crosfields,

where we came back from being

2-0 down at half-time to win

3-2.The boys worked hard at

their skills and made great

progress during the

term.

Archie

Dunipace

– our tackling defender gave 110%

to every match, was a great inspiration to the

rest of the troops and an excellent leader.

Kent Horiguchi

- a very reliable tackler

in defence and kept many of the opposition

attackers out.

Tilewa Balogun

– enthusiastic and skilful, he

ran his heart out and set up several goals.

Alexander Loxton-Edwards

– a late addition

to the team he soon made his mark and scored

a plethora of goals, including a super hat-trick

against Elstree, and a brace that saw us snatch a

remarkable victory at Crosfields.

Vladimir Nevskyy

– through strong play on

the left flank, he led countless forages into the

opposition ranks, delivered great crosses to the

middle and also scored some fabulous goals,

including a great hat-trick in our final game

against Cothill.

Henry Macdonald

- playing on the right

with impressive skill, he never gave up and

scored a remarkable goal at Crosfields from an

impossible angle! Finished off the season with a

tremendous four goals against Cothill.
