Keeping safe online

Summer Fields teams up with the Breck Foundation to provide e-safety workshops for pupils, parents and staff.

The Breck Foundation exists to help young people reclaim the internet. Their aim is to deliver powerful and compelling online safety presentations to educate everyone on the dangers that children and young people face online.
Kerry Rusk from the Breck Foundation visited the school to provide age appropriate workshops to all pupils about keeping themselves safe online, which left the boys feeling empowered and more knowledgeable about the importance of e-safety.

For the workshop for the wider school community she examined and explained the stereotypes around grooming and gave advice on how to have conversations about online safety. The specially designed parent presentation highlighted the importance of communication with our children about the dangers they face online every day; ultimately increasing family’s wellbeing by opening up lines of communication.
