Teaching and Pastoral

Joanna joined the Pre-Prep as the Year 3 teacher when it opened in 2018. Since then, she has been the Head of Year 4 and has moved back over to the Pre-Prep to take up the role of Year 2 teacher.

Prior to joining Summer Fields, Joanna taught in a Prep school in Notting Hill, London, having completed her PGCE course whilst working at Ashburnham Primary school in Kensington and Chelsea and an MA and BA in Art History at Birkbeck College and University College London (respectively). When she wasn’t busy in the classroom, Joanna was also a rowing coach at Kings College School Wimbledon and Godolphin and Latymer school following a long career in school, university and international level rowing (she was the cox!).

Although retired from competitive rowing, you can still find her on the river bank with her young daughter Emma, cheering on her husband Dan who coaches at Shiplake College.
