Extra-Curricular Activities at Summer Fields
As the ISI Inspectors so aptly articulated in their 2009 report:
‘Up to a third of a pupil’s time is spent in sporting creative and non-examined pursuits; pupils relish this variety in their school day.’
While sport plays an important role in life at Summer Fields, there are also a wide variety of activities and clubs beyond the games pitch to suit all interests. Summer Fields’ excellent facilities play a huge part in the breadth of activities we are able to offer.
The Summer Fields activities programme was very successfully re-designed by Mr Sparrow in 2008 and Tuesday afternoon games sessions are specifically set aside for boys to sign-up and partake in the huge range of activities and clubs listed below. This programme is an important part of the Summer Fields educational ethos: the boys are encouraged to get involved and they gain confidence while developing skills and interests that they will take with them throughout life.
